Cinema Commercials Cinemas have a low advertising revenue, yet they have the advantage of high-quality colour, sound and movement, whilst retaining a captive audience. The large screen, surround sound and high colour impact, in a darkened auditorium with nothing else to look at, creates a prime space for advertising.

Advertising at the cinema is similar to that on television, and sometimes the same advertisement appears on both. The HEBS advertisement, that can be seen on the lyrics page, appears in both forms of media. Similarly to television, the commercials in the cinema rely quite heavily on visuals, with music being used to aid or enhance an advertisement, rather than as the sole source of information. |

Cinema commercials are sometimes quite specific to the location of the cinema and quite often, especially in smaller cinema outlets, the advertisements are for local businesses and places on interest. They also have their own advertisements to try to entice you to visit the refreshments stand before the film begins. These advertisements often have music that is made specifically for the company. |

As with television, the commercials shown are specific to the target audience. Cinema advertisements are usually aimed at young people, as they make-up the largest part of the viewing figures, with the advertisements used being classified through the age rating of the film being shown. Similarly to music videos on television, the cinema uses its advertising space to show previews of up-coming films.
