Getting Here

HATII is located in George Service House, 11 University Gardens. George Service House is first on the left from the lower entrance to University Gardens (off University Avenue). See the campus map below for details.

Buses: Route 44 runs through the main campus from the city centre. Numerous other routes serve Dumbarton Road, Great Western Road and Byres Road. A seasonal tourist bus stops at the University. Bus information tel: +44 (0)141 226 4826.

Underground: The main station for the University is Hillhead. Kelvinhall and Kelvinbridge stations are more convenient for some locations (see map of Glasgow). Underground information tel: +44 (0)141 226 4826.

Local Trains: The nearest suburban rail station is Partick, about one mile to the west of the University. It has an interchange with the underground and with bus services on Dumbarton Road. Train information tel: +44 (0)8457 484950.

Airport: Glasgow International Airport is located about 7 miles from the University and is easily accessible via the M8 motorway. A taxi will cost between £15 and £20. A frequent bus service runs to and from Central Station and Queen St Station in the City Centre.

Taxis: Black taxi cabs can be hailed at most times in the University area and the city centre. The nearest rank is outside Hillhead Underground on Byres Road.

Car: Parking on or near campus is exremely limited and travel to the university by car is not recommended. You can park on the left hand side of University Gardens only (not the marked bays on the right, these are reserved for permit holders) but it is usually full from 8am. There is a limited amount of metered parking on University Avenue. The nearest car park is on Lilybank Gardens (see campus map) but again space is limited.
